Worship
At the United Church of Hyde Park we offer praise and honor to God using a variety of cultural traditions from ancient to contemporary. We invite you to come and experience the presence of Jesus with us and to share God’s love in our open circle of fellowship.
Sunday Community Worship is at 10:30 a.m.
There is also a worship for children and youth at 10:30 in the Lounge.
Join us for an Urban Contemporary Worship on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. Enter at our Blackstone door.
On Sundays, Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers during worship.
We share a time of fellowship following worship.
We welcome your gift of flowers to enhance worship. Flowers may be donated in memory of a loved one, to honor someone or to mark a special occasion. A Flower Calendar is in the Fellowship Hall where you may sign up for a particular Sunday. A regular bouquet is $25. Contact the church office to make arrangements.
Skinner Organ

The church organ was built and installed in 1923 by Ernest M. Skinner & Company of Boston. It is one of the few remaining unaltered Romantic Style organs in the country. It has four manuals (keyboards) with 43 ranks (sets of pipes, each of which produces a distinctive sound), and almost 3,000 individual pipes. “Skinners are to organs what Cartier is to jewelry. Skinner organs are terribly, terribly important.”, said David Bahlman, president of the Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois. (Quote from the Chicago Tribune, March 6, 2003.)

Our organ was included, with pictures and description, in the book Pipe Organs of Chicago by Stephen J. Schnurr, Jr. and Dennis E. Northway, published in 2005.
